Upcoming Conferences

To finance its activities, AALIMS depends on the support of individuals and organizations who share its mission of promoting dispassionate research on Islam and Muslim societies.
Urgent needs include:

• Funds to finance participation by graduate students in our activities. About $750 will cover expenses for one student.
• Funds to bring to our events scholars from outside the United States, including the Middle East and South Asia. About $2000 will cover expenses for one scholar.
• Funds to hire a person to turn our website into a major intellectual resource for social scientists around the world. $30,000 would cover part-time staff support for one year.
• Funds to organize and run in 2015 a major three-day conference in the Middle East or South Asia. $30,000 would cover half the anticipated expenses. The remainder would be raised from local organizers.

AALIMS is a non-profit corporation. Contributions to AALIMS are tax-deductible in the United States under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi) of the Internal Revenue Code.
