Julia Choucair Vizoso
Julia Choucair-Vizoso is a Ph.D. candidate in political science at Yale University. She studies authoritarianism, coalitional politics, and social exclusion in the Middle East. Her dissertation examines how authoritarian ruling coalitions are formed and maintained, with a focus on Iraq and Syria. Her research has been supported by fellowships from the United States Institute for Peace and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. She holds a B.S. in International Politics and an M.A. in Arab Studies from Georgetown University, and was an associate at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
