Gunes Gokmen is an Assistant Professor of Economics at New Economic School, Moscow. His research interests lie at the junction of political economy, development economics and economic history, with a particular focus on culture, religion and ethno-religious minorities. Gunes has previous works on the effect of cultural differences on trade, conflict, and development. He also studies the influence of ethno-religious minorities on human capital spillovers and their legacy on development.
Gunes holds a Ph.D. in economic from Bocconi University, Milan.
