Gozde Corekcioglu will receive her Ph.D. in Economics from the European University Institute and will join the faculty at Kadir Has University in Fall 2018. She is an applied econometrician, and her research combines Political Economy and Development Economics. She is particularly interested in the implications of religion and culture on gender inequality. Her job market paper titled “Headscarves and Female Employment” investigates the impact of pro-Islamist rule on female employment, exploiting the repeal of the headscarf ban in Turkey. Starting in Fall 2018, she will also collaborate with the “Emerging Markets Welfare” project at Koc University.
